Hello, World. Again.
After a whirlwind few years, I’m returning to blogging with more clarity, creativity, and purpose. Here’s what’s shifting—and what’s staying true.

I’ve been blogging on and off since 2007. I remember my first post: thoughts on an illustration by Stefan Bucher that I spotted in a graphic design magazine, which I believed perfectly articulated my quarter-life angst in an artsy and edgy way. (Oh, to be in my 20s again.) It was about launching new ideas; and, at that time, I had just discovered Wordpress and social media and felt like I was about to launch something new, too. I also had finished reading Tim Ferriss’s The 4-Hour Work Week, and I was convinced that I had discovered a solution to my corporate woes:
- Start a blog.
- Travel the world.
- Become a prolific and renowned food and travel writer and photographer.
- Make great art and share it with everyone.
- Go wherever I want, whenever I want.
- Get rich, have nice stuff, and never worry about anything ever again. 🤑
Spoiler alert: none of that happened!
Instead, I ended up becoming more corporate. The work week grew longer. My creative time dwindled. I mean, it wasn’t that life was bad or sad. In fact, my career was skyrocketing and actually allowed me to travel more—even by private jet on many occasions!—and dine at incredible places, including Michelin-starred restaurants in the most fabulous cities. But I certainly wasn’t living that 4-hour work week. And I definitely forgot about blogging.
I regret not blogging during those times because I experienced a lot of extraordinary things. It’s not that I have a desire to share everything with everyone; but I do wish I had captured more of those moments for myself at least, so I could look back and enjoy all the memories and feel proud of the things I accomplished and the challenges I had overcome.
So, now that I’m starting a new adventure in a new city, I want to blog again. But, like, for real this time. I want to write about what I’m learning and exploring, and I even want to take some time to bubble up old memories. And have fun while I’m doing all this. After all, what is a blog without memes?
And I also decided that I’m not going to overthink it. I’m just doing it. Nike style.
So, with that said, let’s go! I hope you’ll join me as I (re)enter my blog era.
Blast off! 🚀
